How do I play?

Each year comprises the following phases:
**START OF YEAR**
1. At the beginning of each year except the 1st, discard the Vintage tile used in the previous year and reveal a new Vintage tile for the current year by flipping the top Vintage tile face-up.[1]
2. Move Feature Markers 1-3 spaces up, according to what is depicted on the Vintage tile (if a Feature Marker reaches the topmost space, it does not move further).[1]
3. Before the start of the 4th and 6th year, each player flips all of her face-down Wine Expert tiles face-up again.[1]
**ACTIONS PHASE**
1. Each player, in Player Order, performs their 1st action.[1]
2. On your turn, you must move your Action Marker to another space on the 'Quadrel' and take the action related to that space.[1]
3. If any player chose the Pass / Press Release action, the player order must be adjusted: if any Player Order Marker is in the bottom row of the 'Player Order' area, move it to the same Slot in the top row, shifting other Player Order Markers in the top row as necessary.[2]
4. Place the Year/Taxation Marker in space '2' of the current year to indicate everyone is taking their 2nd action.[2]
5. Players perform their 2nd action.[2]
6. Once all players have taken their second action, place the Year/Taxation Marker in the 'B' space of the current year to indicate the Maintenance phase.[2]
7. If any player chose the Pass / Press Release action during the 2nd action, adjust the player order as described in the 1st action.[2]
8. At any time during your turn in the Actions Phase (before, during, or after an action, but not during the action itself), you may discard 1 Wine to move a barrel from the Magnate spaces or an Additional Action space to a different space of the same row to receive the corresponding benefit.[3]
**WINE TASTING FAIR (Only during the 3rd, 5th, and 6th year)**
1. At the end of the 3rd, 5th, and 6th year, a Wine Tasting Fair is held.[1]
2. Each player must present 1 (and only 1) Wine at each Fair; if you have not yet presented a Wine when the Fair starts, you do so at the Fair.[1]
3. Determine the maximum number of Wine Expert tiles (0 to 4) you can play during the upcoming Fair and take the Fair tile of that value from your supply.[4]
4. Choose an empty Fair Booth and place your Fair tile on it.[4]
5. Apply the effects of the selected Fair Booth: earn Fair Points for each Wine feature depicted based on the current Feature Marker locations, and earn the depicted bonus (a Wine Expert tile, 3 Bagos, or 2 Fair Points).[4]
6. End-of-Fair operations:
a. Discard any Wine Expert tiles just played and place them face-up under their respective stacks.[3]
b. In a 4-player game, the last place player(s) in the Fair ranking may take 1 Wine Expert tile from the top of a stack of their choice for free.[3]
c. Retrieve your Fair tile from the gameboard.[3]
d. Adjust the order of play: the player currently last place on the Fair Scoring Track becomes the first player, second-to-last plays second, and so on (ties do not change relative order).[3]
**PRODUCTION**
1. Place the Year/Taxation Marker on the appropriate space of the current year to indicate the Production Phase is starting.[5]
2. Age Wine: Move each Wine tile on your Player Board (in Warehouses and Cellars) 1 slot to the right; any tile that cannot move further is discarded.[5]
3. Redistribute employees (optional): Reassign Enologists and Farmers to different estates.[5]
4. Produce Wine: For each estate with a Vineyard, calculate the Wine Quality (+2 per Vineyard, +1 per Farmer, +1 per Winery, +2 per Enologist, ± weather Value, and +3 if producing Porto).[5]
5. If the Wine Quality is greater than 0, take a Wine tile matching that quality and place it in the leftmost slot of the Warehouse/Cellar (face-up as Red or White depending on the Vineyard tile).[5]
6. If this is the 1st, 2nd, or 4th year, the year ends; if it is the 3rd, 5th, or 6

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 46 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

streamed — the gateway pushed at least one accumulated draft
watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.
