**Setup**

1. Each player takes one island, 4 adventurers, 4 temples, and 36 jungle tiles with identical color on the back.[1]

2. Place temple treasures in 4 stacks in the middle of the table, with the most valuable treasures on top, in descending order depending on the number of players (2 players 5/3; 3 players 5/3/2; 4 and 5 players 5/4/3/2).[1]

3. Players cooperatively decide where to place adventurers and temples so that all islands look identical before the start of the game.[2]

4. Each player places an adventurer on a number on the beach and the temple of the same color on a number in the jungle.[1]

5. When placing the first adventurer and temple of a color, there must be a minimum of 3 numbers distance between that adventurer and temple.[2]

6. All other players then place their adventurers and temples of that same color on those same numbers.[2]

7. Draw straws to determine the expedition leader.[3]

8. The expedition leader shuffles their 36 jungle tiles and places them face down in a stack in front of them.[1][3]

9. Other players sort their jungle tiles by number and place them face up, in any order, around their island.[1][3]

**Gameplay**

1. The expedition leader turns a jungle tile face up and calls out the number on it.[1][3]

2. All players look for the same jungle tile in their stockpile at the same time.[1][3]

3. Players choose one of two options for the tile:

* Option A: Lay the jungle tile on the island, placing it on a free field so the number is in the upper left hand corner.[1][4]

* Option B: Discard the jungle tile and move an adventurer.[1][4]

4. If choosing Option B, an adventurer may move as many steps, in any direction, as there are paths leading to the edge of the discarded tile.[1][4]

5. Adventurers may only move along paths, one adventurer may occupy each tile, and leaping over others is not allowed.[4]

6. If a player's turn ends on a jungle tile containing gold or a crystal, they collect that item.[1] To collect them, the adventurer must finish their turn on that tile and forfeit any additional movement points.[5]

7. If a player's turn ends on a temple, they take the most valuable remaining temple treasure of that temple's color from the middle stack.[1][5]

8. If multiple players reach a temple of the same color in the same turn, the first player takes the most valuable treasure, and subsequent players take less valuable treasures, making up any point difference with crystals from the stockpile.[5]

**End of the Game and Scoring**

1. The game ends when the last jungle tile is used or a player has moved all four of their adventurers to their temples.[1][5]

2. The winner is the player with the most points.[1][5]

3. Points are calculated as follows: Temple treasures (printed value) + 2 points per gold nugget + 1 point per crystal.[1][5]

4. In the event of a tie, the winner is the player with the most jungle tiles on their island; if a tie persists, the players are joint winners.[5]
