How do I play?

Asked with: Stella: Dixit Universebg-329845-en-1e

### Setup
1. Assemble the two parts of the board and place it on the table.[1]
2. Shuffle all the Dixit Cards and place 3 lines of 5 cards next to the board.[1]
3. Make a draw pile with the remaining cards.[1]
4. Randomly select 4 word cards without looking at them and place face down next to the board as a draw pile.[1]
5. If playing your first game, sort the 4 Discovery Word Cards in ascending order (#1 on top) and place them next to the board.[1]
6. Place the Round Tokens on the appropriate spots, numbered side visible, in proper order from bottom to top.[1]
7. Each player takes a Personal Slate, a matching color felt-tip, and a cloth.[1]
8. Form a pile with the Lantern Tokens, face up (Light side), with one token per player of the matching color, and place this pile on the starting spot in the lower part of the board.[1]
9. Give the Scoring Slate to a player of your choice to track points; this player writes each player's name at the top of their color's column.[1]
10. Randomly determine the first player and give them the First Scout Pawn.[1]
### The Game Round
The game consists of 4 successive rounds.[2] Each round follows these steps:
**1. Associate**
1. The player with the First Scout Pawn reveals the first Word Card from the draw pile and reads the word at the top aloud; this is the Clue Word.[2]
2. Slide the Word Card under the board in the designated location so only the Clue Word is visible (alternatively, players may collectively decide to use the word printed upside down).[2]
3. Each player secretly indicates between 1 and 10 Dixit Cards on their Personal Slate that they associate with the Clue Word.[2][3]
4. Each player places their Lantern Token on the numbered spot of the Board matching the number of boxes they checked on their Personal Slate.[3]
5. If a player checks more boxes than any other player, they turn their Lantern Token to its Dark side.[3]
6. Players pass their felt-tip to the left neighbor to indicate they have finished selecting; once all players have passed the felt-tip, selection is over.[2]
**2. Announce and Reveal**
1. Starting with the First Scout and going clockwise, each player shows a Dixit Card they selected on their Personal Slate.[3]
2. The following situations may occur during the resolution:
* **The Spark:** At least 2 other players selected the card. The Scout and involved players fill 2 stars.[3]
* **The Super-Spark:** Only 1 other player selected the card. The Scout and the involved player fill 2 stars and 1 bonus star.[3]
* **The Fall:** No one else chose the card. The Scout fills 0 stars and can no longer fill stars or be a Scout for this round.[3]
3. After resolution, the player to the left of the current Scout becomes the new Scout, provided they have not fallen and have crosses left to confirm.[4][5] If the next player cannot be Scout, the role passes to the next eligible player.[4][5]
**3. Scoring**
1. Players tally their score for the round by counting the number of stars filled on their Personal Slate (including bonus stars).[6][4][3]
2. If a player is "in the Dark" (their token is on the Dark side), they must make no mistake to score normally; if they make a mistake, they score 1 point less for each Spark and Super-Spark by deleting one star from each matching box.[4]
3. The player with the Scoring Slate notes each player's score in their matching column.[6][4]
**4. End of Round**
1. Put the used Word Card back in the box.[7]
2. Pass the First Scout Pawn to the next player clockwise.[7]
3. Flip the Round Token of the current round.[7]
4. Replace the 5 Dixit Cards in the corresponding line with 5 new cards from the draw pile.[7]
5. Put the Round Token and the 5 discarded cards back in the box.[7]
6. Reset the Lantern Tokens to the Light side and place them back on the starting spot.[7]
7. Each player erases their Personal Slate.[7]
8. Prepare the next round.[6][5]
### End of the Game
At the end of the fourth round, each player calculates their total score by adding up points from all rounds.[7] The player(s) with the

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 12 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.
