How do I play?

Asked with: Evergreenbg-363307-en-1e

The game of Evergreen is played over 4 Seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter), with the number of rounds decreasing each season: 5 rounds in Spring, 4 in Summer, 3 in Autumn, and 2 in Winter.[1]
**Setup**
1. Give 1 Planet board to each player and place it in front of them.[2]
2. Place 1 cylinder marker at the beginning of each Power Track on the top of the board.[2]
3. Place 1 cylinder marker at the beginning of the Score Track surrounding the planet.[2]
4. Place 1 cylinder marker at the beginning of the 50+ Points Track at the top-right of the board.[2]
5. Place 1 cylinder marker in the topmost space of the Season Track at the bottom-left of the board.[2]
6. Place 1 Sun marker in the half-circle space at the top of the board.[2]
7. Randomly determine a first player and give them the First Player token.[2]
8. Shuffle the Biome cards and place them as a face-down deck in the middle of the table.[3]
9. Reserve an area for a discard pile and an area for the Fertility Zone.[3]
10. Reveal cards from the top of the Biome deck until at least 5 Fertility icons are present among them.[3]
11. Place cards with Fertility icons face up in the Fertility Zone in separate stacks for each Biome, ensuring all icons are visible.[3]
12. Shuffle all other revealed cards (those without Fertility icons) back into the Biome deck.[3]
13. Create the drafting pool by drawing a number of cards from the deck equal to the number of players +1 and placing them face up to the right of the deck.[4]
**The Round Sequence**
Each round consists of three phases:
**1. Draft Phase**
1. Starting with the first player and going clockwise, each player picks 1 card from the drafting pool and places it in front of themselves.[4]
2. After picking a card, the first player must place the First Player token on the leftmost card of the drafting pool.[4]
3. If a player picks the card with the First Player token, they take the token and become the first player for the next round.[4]
4. If no one picks the card with the First Player token, the token goes back to the current first player.[4]
5. Once each player has taken a card, exactly 1 unchosen card remains in the pool; perform actions based on its icon:
* **FERTILITY**: Place the card in the Fertility Zone in its respective Biome stack.[5]
* **ARIDITY**: Flip the latest card added to that Biome's stack in the Fertility Zone and place the Aridity card on top (the face-down card no longer contributes to Fertility).[5] If no card exists to flip, place the Aridity card in the Fertility Zone.[5]
* **NO ICON**: Place the card in the discard pile.[5]
**2. Actions and Powers Phase**
1. All players simultaneously perform their Action for the round and may use a bonus Power.[6]
2. You must perform 1 Action each round, which must be applied to the Biome shown on the card you picked during the Draft Phase.[6]
3. Possible actions include:
* **Plant Sprout**: Place 1 Sprout treeple from the pool in an empty space on your Planet board.[6]
* **Generic Growth**: Replace a Sprout treeple with a Small Tree treeple, OR replace a Small Tree treeple with a Big Tree treeple.[6]
**3. End of Round Phase**
1. Verify if another round must be started or if the current Season is over.[1]
2. At the end of each Season, earn points for the amount of Light collected by your Trees and for the size of your biggest Forest, then prepare for the next Season.[1]
**Ending the Game and Scoring**
1. The game ends at the end of the last Season.[1]
2. Calculate your score for the final Season.[1]
3. Calculate your end game score by adding points obtained for the Fertility of the Biomes on your Planet.[1]
4. The player with the most points is the winner.[1]

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 15 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.

both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it.
