How do I play?

**Setup**
1. Each player receives a pen and a score card, placed face up in front of them.[1]
2. Shuffle the 47 treasure cards.[1]
3. Each player takes 4 treasure cards, selects any two to place face up in front of them, and returns the other two to the stack.[1]
4. Place the round card face up in the middle of the table.[1]
5. Place the remaining treasure cards face down in the middle of the table as a stack.[1]
6. Reveal the top four treasure cards from the stack and place them next to the stack as displayed cards.[1]
7. Shuffle the 8 expedition cards and place them face down next to the displayed cards as a stack of expedition cards.[1]
8. Choose a player to start the game.[1]
**A Turn**
The following three actions are always carried out one after the other:
1. **1st action:** The start player reveals the top expedition card from the stack and places it face up next to the stack.[2]
2. **2nd action:** All players cross off boxes on any one of their two treasure cards according to the pattern on the revealed expedition card.[2] The pattern may be rotated 90°, 180°, or mirrored, but must otherwise remain unchanged and complete.[2] If a player cannot or does not want to use the pattern, they may instead cross off just any one box on any of their two treasure cards.[2] You must cross off a box in a round.[2]
* If a player crosses off a box with a cross symbol, they must immediately cross off another empty box anywhere on any of their two treasure cards, repeating this if the new box is also a cross symbol.[3]
* If a player crosses off a box with a coin symbol, they cross the next empty box on their score card, moving from left to right within rows.[3]
* If a player crosses off a box with a palm tree symbol, they immediately receive one victory point for the crossed off palm tree plus one point for each palm tree visible on the four displayed cards.[3]
3. **3rd action:** Any player who has completely filled one of their three rows of coins or one of their treasure cards (or both) during action 2 announces this loudly and clearly.[3]
* If a player completes a row of coins with 4 crosses, they receive victory points for that cup.[3]
* If a player completes a treasure card, they place it to the side (face up) and take a new treasure card as a replacement from either the four displayed cards or the top face down card in the stack.[4]
* The start player changes to the person sitting to their left after action 3.[4]
**End of a Round**
1. A round ends once seven of the eight expedition cards have been revealed and used.[2][5]
2. The corresponding box on the round card is crossed out.[6]
3. All eight expedition cards are shuffled and placed face down as a stack to draw from.[6]
**End of the Game and Scoring**
1. The game ends after four complete rounds.[2][6]
2. Any treasure cards not completed do not earn victory points and are set aside.[6]
3. Each player calculates victory points on their score card as follows:[6]
* Each crossed off coin box earns one point.[6]
* The numbers of the four palm tree boxes are added together.[6]
* Each cup earns as many points as the number on it.[6]
* Each completely filled treasure card earns the number of points indicated on its top left.[6][5]
* Seals on completely filled treasure cards earn 1 or 2 extra points for each separate, completely filled treasure card in that color.[6]
4. The player with the highest total victory points wins.[6]
5. In the event of a tie, the player who completed more grey treasure cards wins; if still tied, the tie is broken by green, then orange, then purple.[6]

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 6 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 584), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
