How do I setup the game?

Answered counted as answered

Asked with: Septimabg-360692-en-1e

To setup the game, follow these steps:
**Main Board Setup**
1. Place the Main board in the middle of the table and decide on the game mode (Full Game or Basic Game).[1]
2. Place the Season marker on the Autumn (1st) space on the Season track.[1]
3. Place the Moon Phase marker on the first space of the Moon Phase track.[1]
4. Randomly place one Lunar Ingredient marker on each Ingredient space found between the Moon Phase spaces.[1]
5. Place one Hunter pawn on each of the Huts on the Main board showing numbers 1, 3, and 5.[1]
6. Place a Hunter on the Winter (2nd) and Summer (4th) spaces of the Season track.[1]
7. Place the Turn Step marker on the A space on the Turn Step track.[1]
8. Place the Potion board near the Main board, creating a separate stack for each Potion type on the corresponding spaces.[1]
9. Create a common supply of Ingredient tokens, Crystals, and Good Luck Charm tokens, and place the Angry Citizen meeples close to the Main board.[1]
10. Shuffle the 6 Patient tokens and create a facedown stack next to the Main board.[1]
11. Draw 4/5/6 facedown Patient tokens in a 2-/3-/4-player game.[1]
12. Place the first Patient token on a Town area that shows the same banner color and the lowest number.[1]
13. Place subsequent Patient tokens in the next empty Town area that shows a corresponding banner color clockwise from the previous token.[1]
14. Shuffle the Witch tiles and create a face-down draw stack next to the right side of the Main board, close to the First Trial Chamber.[1]
15. Reveal the top Witch tile and place it into the First Trial Chamber.[1]
16. Place the empty Trial bag close to the Crowd area of the Main board.[1]
17. Place the Trial & Scoring Aid sheet next to the Main board with the 'Trial Resolution' side up.[1]
18. Set up the Septima Action markers at the Septima area of the Main board.[1]
19. If playing a 2-player game, place the Septima 2-player Overlay tile on the Septima area.[2]
20. Shuffle the Septima Action markers and create a face-down stack nearby.[2]
21. Reveal the top two markers and place them on the two Septima Action spaces of the Septima area.[2]
22. Shuffle the Prologue cards to form a face-down draw deck.[2]
23. For the Full Game, separate the 6 Building tiles into bronze and golden stacks, randomly select one from each stack, and place them on the two Town areas of the Main board showing the matching symbol.[3]
24. Place the Ritual board on the left side of the Main board.[3]
25. Set up the Spell cards at the bottom of the Ritual board by separating them into Earth (green), Air (blue), and Fire (red) decks.[3]
26. From each deck, separate the 2 Scoring Spell cards, shuffle them separately, and place them face down on the corresponding element spaces on the Ritual board.[3]
27. Reveal the top card of each Scoring Spell deck.[3]
28. Shuffle the remaining Regular Spell cards separately and place them in three face-down decks below the Scoring Spell cards.[3]
29. Draw the top card of each Regular Spell deck and place it face up below its respective deck.[3]
30. Reveal the top card of each of these decks so that 9 Spell cards are visible (3 of each element).[3]
**Player Setup**
1. Each player chooses an available player color.[4]
2. Take all 9 Action cards of your color into your hand.[4]
3. Take a Player board (use the side with the Full Game symbol for a Full Game, or the other side for a Basic Game).[4]
4. Take the 6 Loyal Citizens of your color and place them in a personal supply near your Player board; place 1 Loyal Citizen into the Crowd area of the Main board.[4]
5. Take a Patient Track marker of each color and place it on the bottom space of its respective track on the top right of your Player board.[4]
6. Take and place a Suspicion marker on the space showing the Suspicion icon (value "2") on your Suspicion track on the left side of your Player board.[4]
7. Draw 1 Book of Divinations card and keep it secret.[4]
8. Gain

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 67 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 1050), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
