To gain food from the birdfeeder, follow these procedures based on the provided sources:

* **Standard Action:** Place an action cube in the leftmost exposed slot of the "gain food" row on your player mat.[1][2] For each die you select from the birdfeeder, remove it and place it on the table; you then gain one food token matching the icon on that die.[1][2] If a die shows a specific face (noted as a dual side), you may gain one token of either type (but not two).[1][2] Additionally, if your action cube's slot allows for a card-to-food bonus conversion, you may optionally discard up to one bird card from your hand to gain an additional food by choosing from the remaining dice in the birdfeeder.[1][2]
